hi amber, i wouldn't eat the asparagus from the grocery store raw.....heck, i won't eat it cooked, LOL> but if you can find it fresh picked from a real farm, it is wonderful to eat raw. the purple is a little sweeter than the green and most people seem to prefer the purple once they have tried it. yum.......making me wish asparagus season would hurry and get here!
