• GLITZ: No, they were a maroonish ...color....lol So mad at myself, but I jsut bought two pocketbooks from them and an IPAD so not buying flowers this year...Real reason is my ankle was torn four months ago and just mending so that would curtail the activity...Next year...lol

  • GLITZ: lol...not too much talent growing flowers...lol, but I love them and give them tons and tons of TLC...Even talk to them....(no joke)...I got them from Cottage farms or Roberta's and ...forgot, but know they said they would take the shade well...or I wouldn't have purchased them. I didn't get too many, however...But the ones I did get were beautiful...Do Star lillies sound right to you? Forgot!!

  • GLITZ and IRENE: just one of many interesting videos at QVC...Trust me..they stand by their product and refund or replace. I have bought day lillies that grew on my balcony last year....and none ever did and they grew in the shade....Very little sun... http://www.qvc.com/qic/qvcapp.aspx/view.2/app.detail/params.item.M16592.desc.Cottage-Farms-6piece-Pink-Ornamental-Grass

  • IRENE: Do try it....I am sure you'll love it .....Trust me...The choice is amazing and they stand by all their products....totally

  • IRENE: Did you ever watch the Cottage gardens show ..or Philip Watson on QVC...Trust me...MY SIL has a beautiful garden that is the envy of her neighborhood, more so, than from any nursery around here...and all from QVC? She just bought a Hibiscus tree...gorgeous...and hearty and they guarantee return until you are happy or a full refund. I never was able to grow herbs, but with their products, I can...

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NANCY JEAN.

IRENE: Do you get QVC...IF you go to their site...and click on garden ....you will see that Roberta's Garden..and Philip Watson are on quite a bit and they have the most glorious and I mean that (unusual flowers, shrubs, plants, etc..)....They were on yesterday!! Check the schedule....Nice to see you!

  • NANCYJEAN: Thanks so much. I appreciate it...Yes, I am afraid that is why mine don't last. I kept them indoors....I adore the fragrance. Like your sweet and happy Avatar....You are such a friendly gal...Nice to meet you!

  • Does anyone have any luck growing Gardenias in the house. My very favorite flower...Thanks...Up with healing pain from my ankle and itchy..lol

  • BAMAJ1 Wish I liked brussel sprouts...tried them every which way...lol NANCYJEAN: Tried asparagus everyway as well....Just can't develop a taste for either but I do love other veggies roasted ..etc. ..YUM!!!

  • GLITZ: Hi..miss you posting on the Pottery board...Don't be a stranger....I will try the purple asparagus from the farm in the Spring....Glad I am not the only one who doesn't like asparagus...lol Yuck! I love broccoli, however. In fact, like all veggies but brussel sprouts...and asparagus...oh/ also kidney beans...yuck..lol..Hope everyone is having 'fun' preparing for the Holidays....Anticipation and the 'journey' for me is half the fun! GLITZ...Made any cookies...I made a boatload....Wish I could eat as much but seems the weight wants to join the cookies, but I do it anyway...for the Holidays and then back on a weight release program...Not as much fun!

  • GLITZ: WOW!..lucky gal that you work at a farm and country market...Do you work many hours. I love the teeney stalks of asparagus...GLITZ..You eat it raw??
I have to try that. Good for you, of course,(healthy) but well, we'll see! lol

Roberta's is a fascinating site..and on QVC, their prices are almost unblievably low 'cause they pass the 'massive purchasing' power onto the buyers..and such qality with a 'no questions' asked guarantee!

IRENE: What kind of a camera did you use for your pictures? Absolutely gorgeous shots. Jealous..lol!..So now I am jealous of your pictures and working at a Farm stand, so , maybe, I should get 'a crackin'..Hope you all are having a nice weekend..

  • IRENE: Forgot to add, they sell for tons less when they come to QVC from March till June, I believe..or even July…..No middle man and QVC orders thousands, so the low price is given to us at a discount when they order so much from them..! I have ordered from them for four years now…and what I can’t find or haven’t had luck with in other stores, I have luck with here….and on my deck!!

  • http://www.robertas-unique-gardens.com/ IRENE: hope this helps, but these pictures are only a teeney fraction of what they have. Truley amazing!

  • IRENE: Cottage Farm Industry or Robertas on QVC is the best I have yet to see! Total quality with a full money back guarantee if one is not happy No questions asked...Most unusual plants you'd ever want to see! ....But they are only on QVC starting in March.....Your pictures are gorgeous. Fascinating..

  • BAMAJ1....Thanks a bunch. Appreciate it....Will make it for Xmas to offset all the 'sweet' things.....Nice change!!

  • THANKS, bamaj1....I will see if I can find it on the net....and adjust it , if it doesn't sound as good as yours did.....Lucky gal with all those key limes....Going to check out the super market and see if they sell them....Are key limes sweeter than regular limes...wondering...Thanks again bamaj1..and you ought to be praised for almost 13 plus years of helping people day in and day out with antiques....Seriously!!

  • I would imagine one can use about 2 tsps of lime zest...and poke holes in top of pound cake and a good facsimile....Going to try it...I know Trader Joes has a lemon lb cake and it's almost wet, it's so filled with lemon juice...Back to Garden talk..sorry!

  • GLITZ: Love your garden photos. wonderful...I lived vicariously sitting in that white chair...lol Did you erect that plastic HOT house yourself, Jo? Wonderful!

IRENE: So glad to hear you are on the mend...I am as well...just too much sneezing..and well (the hanky) but it didn't go in my chest as it used to, so that''s a good thing....Sounds like fun to grow things at the Community gardens.. Does Curt join you?...lol You mean you weren't growing veggies, etc..just for the deer....Kidding!

Laughed at all the talk on zucchini...Love zucchini bread...

BAMAJ1: Lauged at your comment.. relative to: Not gonna' leave zucchini on door steps, etc in the middle of the night...Still laughing...I remember lurking, BJ, one day and saw your receipe for lime pound cake, I believe....HINT: Wonder if you are growing limes...lol! Lime pound cake...sounds wonderful!

  • Good morning garden friends: I am feeling better....Irene..so sorry you have a cold as well....Did you ever hear of natural zinc 'cold easers'...??? Hope you feel better.....and thank your hubby for this garden board. Hope more people start to post....

  • IRENE: Sorry for delay in answering but have a bit of a cold....Yes, I heard that as well...and want tomatoes so badly but on a deck, I don't know, but we have rented two campsites where there is tons of sun, so maybe I can start one there as well...Hope so!

NANCY...lol...Oh, it grew alright, but IT IS spidery....and a bush I have not grown out of it....Just put it in a window and grew like crazy ..about one and one half foot tall....and keep clipping it....so we'll see when I put it out on deck....

    CHRIS: Beautiful pictures.

Have a great day everyone....Might not be here for a bit...Down and out with a fever and a cold...ghhhhrrr!

  • NANCY: Beautiful yard and garden.. Talking about herbs, Nancy, I was amazed that basil grew in this teeney little pot in my window..almost overtook the window....with no sun...Just a lot of light! Anyone ever try those topsy turvey tomato hangars .....Wondering if they need to be watered dailey...so I hear??? Thank you!

  • IRENE: I was amazed that they grew.....Got them from Cottage Farms on QVC....Have tons of luck with Cottage Farms....I purchased the same two years ago from Home Depot and they didn't bud at all.....The pumpkin was a teeney one.....and well, herbs seem to grow anywhwere, but , nonetheless, made me feel good....Have a good night now..

GLITZ: Glad you finally got your computer working...That's annoying,, isn't it??

  • Good morning everyone! Early to bed and up early...

IRENE: Thank your nice husband again for going out of his way to fix my problem getting here. Glad he is over the flu....Thank him for creating this....I only have a deck garden but did grow begonias...and star lillies...and a pumpkin last year.....This year I plan to do peppers....herbs...Grew basil and oregano last year on windsill so will replant...Have a nice day now!

  • HELEN: Now I figured it out...You're the gal that invited me to the new book board months ago....Takes me a while....Really like the homey attractive picture of you and your hubby! Have a good morning everyone....Looking forward to hearing about gardening (in the winter)...lol

  • Just testing to see if this works....Howdy everyone!
